Los Angeles basketball has had a dense history since the foundation of the American Basketball Association in the late 1960’s. The Stars were moved to Los Angeles from Anaheim at the end of the 1968 season, and played in the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena until 1970. In their last season on the court, the LA Stars made an astonishing appearance in the ABA playoffs, when they went on to become the Western Division Champions of 1970.
